On Halloween each year, a stretch of South Coast Hwy 101, from Encinitas Blvd. to K Street, becomes “Pumpkin Lane,” decorated with elaborately carved pumpkins at different viewing locations.
The Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF) grow and harvest the pumpkins on the hill overlooking our downtown. The monks of SRF carve over a hundred of them for the enjoyment of the community each year.
Downtown merchants hand out treats to thousands of costumed kids and Her Royal Highness grants wishes at the Queen’s Court next to the SRF Bookstore.
The 101 Artists’ Colony hosts a Kids Zone in The Lumberyard Courtyard, where children enjoy Halloween-themed games and activities, as well as live music by Bucket Ruckus.
